Christmas Angel

Kennedy was asked to participate in Aunt T's church Christmas pageant this past Sunday. Her acting part went really well this time as she portrayed an angel in the pageant! That is definitely no easy task for this busy 3 year old! Aunt T said she behaved very well but was very concerned as to why she couldn't play with the baby Jesus doll while they were on stage!
We think she made a really cute little angel. It has been really fun this year as she has been learning all about Christmas and the miracle of baby Jesus, we can't wait for Christmas day to get here, it seems to be more fun the older she gets!

Our little director...

What a crazy Christmas season this has been, between shopping, working, parties and programs, this month has flown by. It sure has been so much fun though!

Our little girl has been quite the actress (or shall I say director) lately. Her preschool does an annual Christmas program and she actually had a part this year! Each of the 3 year olds had a letter they wore around their neck that all together spelled out Merry Christmas. Along with each child's letter they each had a small phrase that went along with it. Kennedy was the letter H and we rehearsed her line for weeks to prepare for the program...H is for the hay that baby Jesus slept on. She had it down pat!

The program day arrives and she is dressed in her cutest Christmas pajamas (as all the children were)! The whole family arrives to watch her performance and we strategically sit three rows back in the dark audience hoping that we were close enough for good pictures but far enough back that K would not see us. Well that didn't work too well! As soon as she came out on stage she spotted me and jumped off the stage to come sit with us, so they were missing their H on stage. She then pretty much stole the show!! She ran to the front of the audience, stood by the teacher that was sitting on the floor coaching the other kids through their lines, and turned into the program director. She had her hands going and even yelled at one of the children to sing louder! I told you she was bossy! All in all it was really cute and we're thinking she might be a band director one day. We're actually aiming for a movie producer! Then maybe she could support dear old mom and dad!

Memories

It's amazing what happens when you finish a
very old roll of film, get it developed and
discover what is on it! I took K to a birthday pary last month and they had Jingles the clown as entertainment. It was sooo much fun, even for me and I'm most definitely not in the 3-5 age range!

She was very excited to get her face painted and I had to show you all the finished product!

Back to the film, I guess I had not used the camera in a really long time as there are Christmas pictures from last year on it! I included some pics over the last year and it just reminds me how fast she is growing up! Look at how small Hollie was!

24 Weeks and Counting

I figured it was time to update on baby Dyer #2! I am currently 24 weeks along and can't believe how fast time is going by! When I was pregnant with Kennedy I felt like it took forever and this time it is flying by. With the approaching holidays around the corner I know time is going to go by even faster. I guess when you have a demanding toddler to keep up with you don't have as much time to just sit and focus on being pregnant. It is kind of bittersweet as I feel as though I haven't had as much time to enjoy it and who knows if I'll ever get to do it again!

I am very excited about this little guy arriving, oh by the way,
did we tell you that it is a BOY! That's a whole other aspect that takes some getting used to. We are so used to pick and playing with dolls that I'm not quite sure what you are supposed to do with a boy! It will definitely be an adventure! The sonogram pictures that are in here are at 11 weeks and 19 weeks. I was supposed to get my 4D sono this week but the doctor's machine was broken so hopefully in two weeks I'll have a new picture!.

I am feeling well these days as I finally got over the awful headaches that I was experiencing daily, and I can't complain as I have only gained 6 pounds! Now we just have to concentrate on finding a name (we don't agree on anything) and finding some room in this overcrowded house for another person to live! It is amazing how much stuff a child uses and how much room that this stuff occupies!

Little Pumpkin

Happy Fall everyone! We are finally starting to have some tolerable weather down here in the valley, it has been an average of 85 degrees! It has been quite pleasant! They are even anticipating a cold front with temperatures around 65 for Thanksgiving. That is pretty darn chilly for us! It will make for a nice holiday though, there is nothing worse than 90 degree weather when it should be cold.

I finally got Kennedy's pictures in and I wanted to share them with everyone, I am so proud of them! I've told all of you how difficult it is to get her to cooperate for pictures and she did great with the photographer that took these at school! Her school has a pumpkin patch every year as their big fundraiser. Unfortunately where we live, pumpkins do not grow here, so they get shipped in for our makeshift pumpkin patch! We as parents have to sign up and work a couple of shifts selling pumpkins. Kevin and I worked together and had lots of fun out there, Gramma even brought Kennedy and Hollie out to see us and they had a blast!

Happy Belated Halloween!

We enjoyed a great Halloween down here and I finally have pictures to show for it! It's exciting to see how each year that passes Kennedy becomes a little bit more enthralled with the holidays. She sure made a really cute kitty cat!

Every year on Halloween we get together at our house with friends and family and hand out lots of candy in our culdesac. We have quite the participating neighborhood, so it really is a lot of fun! Kennedy really enjoyed handing out candy, even though she is a bit stingy. She would only give each child one piece! We thought we would never run out of candy! We then loaded up the kids in the wagon and went door to door and collected some candy of our own, Kevin thinks this is the greatest reason to have children!
All in all we had a great evening and look forward to getting together next year!

I'm Still Here!

Okay, I really have the best of intentions when it comes to this blog, but I have decided that I just have bad luck! I bought a new digital camera after my last one quit, so that I could stay up to date on pictures. I love my new camera except now it has decided that it doesn't always want to upload the pictures to my computer. I finally got it to work today and it still left about 10 random pictures out? Go figure! Maybe I need a new computer!

Happy Birthday Kennedy

What a busy weekend we just had! Miss Priss is now 3 years old! We started off the weekend with a mini lunch party with her class at school on Friday. Daddy and I took McDonald's and cupcakes to school and had lunch with ten 3 year olds, it was a lot of fun. Kennedy had everyone convinced that daddy is Superman! Daddy even fit in well during circle time!

Saturday morning was almost like Christmas morning in our house. K woke up and found a brand new hot pink Barbie Jeep in the middle of the living room! She was so excited! She is riding in style now, if she could only learn how to drive. She tried to run over our trash can outside and almost took Daddy out a few times!

We had a big party at Chuck E. Cheese and she had a blast. Outside of a 10 minute time frame in which we convinced her to eat a piece of pizza and blow out candles, we really never saw her the entire time we were there. She played in the tunnels until we had to drag her out to go home!

All in all we had a fantastic weekend, I just can't believe that she is now 3 years old! Where did the time go? It seems like only yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital! Even though the terrible two's have made for a trying year, we can't wait to see what she has in store for us this next year.
Happy Birthday our sweet Baby Girl!

Sea World

I had this great idea that we should take K to Sea World in San Antonio a few weeks ago. I remember all the times that I have been and how much I used to enjoy it, so I thought she would just love all of the animal shows! Not much had changed since the last time I was there 10+ years ago except that they have added a large water park area.

I should have known better than to take her to a place that has water involved. Anyone that knows my child knows that she LOVES water. Ever since she was a baby she has loved to go swimming, at times I swear she is part fish! She could have cared less that there were large whales and penguins to see. Although I must give her credit as she was such a good girl for us while we were there (especially for us not knowing she had a double ear infection), she just couldn't understand why she couldn't swim in Shamu's pool, or the dolphin's pool, or the water ski show lake. Her only words all day were when are we going swimming! So after trekking through Sea World in 100 degree heat and no wind, we came to the Lost Lagoon waterpark and enjoyed a good hour of playing in the water!

She was a very happy girl at the end of the day, but mom and dad were worn out! We have decided we'll wait about five more years before we take that adventure again and maybe go in the cooler months of fall next time! For now we'll just stick with Schlitterbahn, our local water park on South Padre Island, they have a great children's area!

Our Little Ballerina

So Miss Priss has started a preschool dance/gym combo class. Boy isn't she cute! She's taking tap, ballet and gymnastics and she seems to be really enjoying it! She's the youngest in the class due to her birthday, she won't be 3 until October, so they accepted her on a trial basis. So far so good! I was worried that an hour and a half class would be too long for her attention span, but she seems to really like it. She sure doesn't have more than a 5 minute attention span at home. Oh well, at least she is good for other people, I guess that is the important thing!

Best Friends

Our daughter definitely has quite the personality and now her new favorite thing to tell you is who her new best friend is. Believe me it changes by the day! She is very good at letting you know that you are NOT her best friend when she is unhappy with you!

I must say that her all time favorite is Wild Wing ( the local baseball team mascot). Daddy saved the day when Harlingen's minor league baseball team lost their liquor license. For approximately two months all alcohol sold at the baseball game was sold under Kevin's catering permit until the league got their license back. Needless to say we attended quite a few games and had lots of fun, especially stalking poor Wild Wing! He never was outside of Kennedy's view.

Miss Priss has always been extremely friendly (and nosy) with strangers. She has befriended the little girl across the street, mostly because she drives a really cool car! We told her maybe if she is a good girl Santa might bring her a cool car for Christmas! I'll have to get back to you about the good girl part!

Here we are!

So I am finally moving up in the world and becoming a little more technologically advanced! Everyone keeps yelling at me that I never send pictures of K, so I thought that this would be a great idea!

You must understand one thing though, this little girl is definitely not the most cooperative. Getting her to look at a camera , much less saying "cheese", when you need her to are moments few and far between. Kevin informed her the other day that she is going to grow up and wonder why there are no pictures of her from this time in her life!

I will do my best though as I know that I love reading eveyone else's blogs and seeing all the great pics of the kiddos!
